Fighting Techniques of the Early Modern World describes the combat techniques of soldiers in Europe and North America from 1500 to 1763. The book explores the unique tactics required to win battles in an era where the musket increasingly came to dominate the battlefield, and demonstrates how little has changed in some respects of the art of war.

Different look at Emerging European Fighting Techiques:
I bought this book on the strength of its pictures and diagrams, loads of it. However I did note that a number of colour pictures were from previous military books.
The text is also different, with alternative viewpoints being given by as yet generally unfamiliar authors writing in military history. It is a little like reading "Koch's Century of Warfare" where the Euro-centric perspective differs largely from the Anglo-centric viewpoint.
Fighting Techniques of the Early Modern World:
Outstanding book covering every aspect of the early modern world. Fantastics drawings of weapons, uniforms and battles as well as abundant black and white picture. Readers should also consider the purchase of other books in the series....Fighting Techniques of the Ancient World and Fighting Techniques of the Medieval World.
