Customer Review: I have used Quicken for many years and always purchase The Official Guide with each update. It's clear, concise and easy to use when I encounter something new. A must-have..
Customer Review: We purchased several other OS X 10.5 books but this one is the best by far. The book is structured for learning and reference with examples and text on the same page. The book also demonstrates just about any thing you may want to do in concise straight forward language with clear examples. For the... more info
Customer Review: I recommend this book, with a couple of caveats. It's a fairly helpful guide, intended mostly for novices. That being the case, certain how-to explanations are left out, it being assumed you know the WordPress basics already. You will need to go, with book in hand, and play around with the software... more info
Customer Review: I thought the book was great. I normally buy Quicken softeware every two to three years, and the book on that particular software. My expereince is that both the software product, as well as the book have improved a lot over the years. The book is easy to read with numerous tips throughout. Also... more info
Customer Review: The official and informative guide to 07 Quicken. I reviewed two other books about Quicken but this was the most informative and clear. Great for beginner and intermediate users.
Customer Review: I find the print quality very poor, especially for the example figures. Some of the print is so small and blurred
that I can't even read it with a magnifying glass. Otherwise the overall general text is pretty good.
Customer Review: This is the excel book that I have been looking for. Easy to read and understand. The displays are done well. Sometimes you need more that a book for dummies.
Customer Review: I was looking around to find a book that does a good introduction to Excel with screenshots that I wanted to suggest for a friend. This is a nice book to read and get to know Excel step by step.
The author takes you through a step by step approach with an example to create a budget excel... more info

Customer Review: I found this booklet extremely helpful. If you don't have much experience with excel, this book is for you. It shows you quick and easy ways to set up a spreadsheet and you can easily adjust the spreadsheet to your fit needs.
Customer Review: While exhaustive, the book is poorly organized, VERY wordy, and filled with sales pitches. Do we really need 500 pages? Does anyone want to spend that much time studying Quicken? Yes, you can find information on every single Quicken feature, but my complaint here is the author's sheer... more info
Customer Review: This guide will be a help for persons who have little experience with the Macintosh operating system, but is mostly a waste of time for those who already understand the basics. The book goes through each of the menu functions step by step, with helpful images of the screens that are displayed with... more info
Customer Review: I have been diligently working my way through this book, but it's been tough going. This book has 15 chapters and Maria did at least cover all the basics of Excel. Alas, that's all the good news. This book does not have any exercises. You just get generic descriptions of - If you wanted to make... more info
Customer Review: I was looking for a book that would help me organize my finances using Quicken 2000. If you are looking for a "How to" book, this book is not for you. This book simply describes the functions of Quicken 2000 without going into a lot of detail about why, when, or how you should organize your... more info
Customer Review: I delayed installing OS8 because of reported bugs. But before I finally did, I made sure I had this book. It saved my bacon. No suprise, I have the Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop and CorelDraw books from this series and they have all proved to be a lifesaver. When you want the answer NOW without... more info
Customer Review: sadly this book is highly recommended by many sources. however, it has not been useful at all to help me set up my accounts or explain the capabilites of Quicken 2002. i've had to rely on myself to figure out how to get my accounts set up to where i understand them & to figure out the software... more info

woodys-books 5 out of 5 "ordered Jan. 30, received Feb. 7" February 7, 2008
I (5*****)rated this transaction on February 7th, [date of receipt]. Requesting 2nd and 3rd reviews is puzzling. I was pleased with the condition and timeliness of it's receipt. I have no further comments.
Customer Review: The book suggests using indents and tabs to make a resume. Using tabs would make things bump around strangely if you edit or change font. No mention of using a table and turning off the lines to make placing text and editing easy. Resume they do make is not a great-looking document, and has (for my... more info
Customer Review: If you have NEVER used a personal computer before, are unsure what a "cursor" is, get completely confused when relatives tell you to "drag that file to the XYZ folder," and feel like an idiot when asked to select an item from a "pull-down menu," this is the book for you.
Customer Review: Since Microsoft does not include any manuals or written materials with Word:mac 2001, Ms. Langer's book is indispensable. Her explanations are clear, concise, and to the point. Her instructions are much more easy to follow than what appears in the onscreen MS Word Help.
Customer Review: This is an extremely basic book. I could have used this book for maybe the first two weeks after I installed X. If you know how to get around the aqua interface of X and the "iapps" then you do not need this book. If you know what Samba is don't consider this book.
Customer Review: I don't know if the program is the problem, but this book was not easy to use or helpful. It seems to just repeat the help screens, which are also worthless.
