Customer Review: This series has really helped me project myself in a more professional manner in the business world past (job interviews, networking events, etc.) - I believe the advice in this book directly helped me land my current job, which I love. Knock 'em Dead is great because it's so well-organized and easy... more info
Customer Review: This book is lousy for non-entree level job-seekers. It talks about attire, outlook etc. that one usually knows if he/she has worked before. It gives no solid avenues for locating jobs. If you ask me, don't get this book...it is not worth your money.
Customer Review: I tried using Yate's approach in the mid '90s. It nearly prevented me from getting a good job, so unnatural and glib were my interview responses. Based on the negative comments here, reactions are still the same.
Customer Review: I used this along with "Cover Letter Magic" and "The Very Quick Job Search," and I prefer those over this one. Though certainly an improvement over the old "Enclosed please find" style, the examples throughout the book are still a bit stiff, unnecessarily wordy, and dated. There's also not as much... more info
Customer Review: When I called Borders, the salesperson told me that this was the most popular book purchased by the most people (for resume building). I've seen quite a few and had a very good resume. Still, I wanted to kick it up a knotch. After just a short period of time revising my resume using this book, my... more info
Customer Review: This book, has a suspicious title that didnt really encourage me to want to read it--as it wa a gift to me but I read it. It is written quite well and provides some very useful information that is readily applicable. A suggested read.
Customer Review: Best known for his "Knock `Em Dead" series of books directed at job seekers, author Martin John Yate (co-writing here with Peter J. Sander) now turns to what happens after the seeker finds a job, does it well and gets promoted to management. He offers the know-how you need for that first management... more info
Customer Review: This book offers a solid system which will help you prepare for the interview process. As the book explains, the interview process is not just about the 'right' answers to certain questions. It is also about considering the needs of those at 'the other side of the desk' and the criteria by which... more info

Customer Review: It's not every day that you run across a book that actually lives up to its reputation. This one does, and more. Martin Yate's Knock `Em Dead series has spawned numerous bestsellers. Customer Review: I read the Q&A section of this book, and the very next day I was hired for the highest paying position I ever had! It doesn't give you answers, but instead it shows you what employers are looking for
Customer Review: I have owned this book since 2003. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have made very good use of it several times since then.
In addition to the praise from other reviewers for the tips on how to answer the trickiest questions in a smart and professional way, I have found the first two parts,... more info

The first step to getting that job once you get your foot in the door is surviving the... more info
