Customer Review: You will read this book and feel empowered by the information given to you in Robert Bly's familiar, easy to understand prose. As one of the most successful copywriters in existence, I suppose it's hard not to be swept up by his promises of success and instant tips for improving your business... more info
Customer Review: The Elements of Business Writing is clearly modeled after Strunk and White's "The Elements of Style", and it is a worthy addition. Authors Blake and Bly essentially have re-written the classic "Elements", and transformed it into "Business Elements". Lots of specific usage and style pointers, which I... more info
Customer Review: Makes sense to have a book to look at whenever you're at a lost of word. This book serves as my reference in my daily activity - from writing letters/memos to sending e-mail (business or personal). A really great companion.
Customer Review: To sum up this review succinctly, I love this book. As I jump full-force into a writing career, myself, I have found this book to be very inspiring and an invaluable resource for repeated reference and a great pick me up during those doubtful moments that every freelancer faces as they embark... more info
Customer Review: This is one of the best anthologies out there. I have purchased several copies to give as gifts (even wedding presents). Although the choice of poems is theoretically aimed at male readers, the poems appeal to all types of readers. It is also a great introductory anthology for a high school student.
Customer Review: the title is misleading, the content is poor, many examples but no explainings on how to create a similar good copy content is mostly copied from his other handbook dissapointment
Customer Review: Business to Business Direct Marketing focuses on what you need to know as a business leader or as a copywriter to produce effective B2B direct marketing campaigns. Bob not only explains what needs to be done, by why. The book is filled with clear examples from past successful campaigns. Whether... more info
Customer Review: I was foolish enough to buy this from Amazon and it convinced me never to buy again any title that has the suffix ..for dummies. It is completely worthless, it is not a how to and it contains no purposeful concept for any sort of PR activity. If this edition has the additional CD... its worthless... more info
Customer Review: This is an excellent book to have on hand if you are a frequent letter writer. I've learned valuable information just by skimming through the book. I recommend this book to anyone looking for information on how to correctly write a letter.
Customer Review: A solid, common-sense guide to technical writing that is applicable to writing in general. The tips and pointers presented in this manual will improve all your writing, not just technical. This book makes the excellent point that good technical writing is ultimately just good writing...applied to... more info
Those who are about to read this book need to keep in mind that in it, Robert Bly shares his thoughts about what blogs cannot do (nor be expected to do) as well as what they can do. Over the years, he has earned and deserves his reputation as a master of reasoning, reading, and writing... more info
Customer Review: I spent a lot of my young life just bouncing around and living it up. So I ended up a 29 year old lay-about, with a degree in accounting, which I have no use for, and a degree in philosophy (which between you and me, no one has any use for). It was by accident that I came across this book and... more info
Customer Review: A great book for someone contemplating entering the speaking/seminar business. I discovered the National Speakers Association through this book.
Customer Review: I found this book to be helpful, easily readable, and provided sound judgement on the way to developing a copywriter career. Wanting to be a writer myself, I purchased this book and was not disappointed, rather, I was delighted! Finally, a copywriter who wrote with simplicity and common sense so... more info
Customer Review: I got my copy of The White Paper Marketing Handbook from Amazon. If I recall, it was referenced on a site I had found while researching the subject. My interest in Robert Bly's book is simply as someone at a company that is making a concerted effort to venture into the realm of "edu-marketing"... more info
Customer Review: This is one of the most important books I own. It's part of my reference library, and I've read it more than one time. Now, it may just take you more than 60 days to reach your goal of expert status, but it's well worth it. I took the techniques outlined in this book and adapted it to the... more info
Customer Review: This is a fantastic book to any business person who wants to improve their bottom line and make their advertising and marketing more measureable and accountable. Bly thoroughly covers every direct marketing medium: print, radio, tv, telemarketing and the Internet. And he shows the key differences of... more info
Customer Review: Any book that Bob Bly is associated with is bound to be good--no, great! And this one is no exception.
The author explores this new, exciting medium we call email and uncovers its powerful potential for direct response selling. It leads you through the basic techniques of marketing through email.... more info
Customer Review: I read the book in 2 days and immediately found ideas that improved my current writing and editing projects. This is not a cutting edge, radically innovative book. It is a short, well organized, basic copywriting text. I'm glad I bought it.
Customer Review: This book is an excellent guide for the novice who needs to know how to plan, design, and write a sales brochure for his/ her business.
I used it to learn the basics, which I used to produce two sales brochures that greatly pleased the clients: one a non-profit and the other a growing hi-tech firm.... more info
Customer Review: Just the title alone inspired me with many observations on modern society, in which no one wants to be/respect the authority figure, we all collaborate instead of taking orders from anyone, there is no right or wrong, only "your truth" and "my truth," and the most important thing is for everyone to... more info
Customer Review: Robert Bly's book is a wonderful introduction to publication. The text is logically written without a lot of fluff. He clearly details each step from idea conception to press releases and marketing. The appendixes are filled with valuable information: contacts, sample forms and formatting, edited... more info
Customer Review: Many people want to know how to begin the journey of a freelance writer. To learn a new skill like freelancing, you are wise to follow someone who has "been there." Bob Bly writes with authority and wisdom about the details of a freelance writing career. Whether you are just starting out or... more info
Customer Review: Bly does an adequate job explaining the numbers and goal systems required to determine one's required performance input as well as thoughts on customer retention. However, this book has a glaring weakness in its absence of true psychological analysis. One need not have a long history of sales to... more info
Customer Review: This book seems to cover absolutely all the ins and outs of succeeding as a freelance writer. (I have one reservation, which I'll discuss later.) Bly is a very successful freelance writer, sometimes earning as much as $600,000 per year and apparently routinely earning at least $100,000 per year, so... more info
